TrustArc’s 2025 Global Privacy Benchmarks identifies AI as the top challenge in business, with enforcement accelerating. High performers in the area share a blueprint: principles-based programmes aligned to global standards, centralised teams, rigorous measurement and purpose-built privacy tech. Small companies have rapidly matured, tripling their privacy offices. Vendor risk is rising, with 72 per cent building or planning Trust Centres, and organisations implementing seven privacy initiatives significantly outperform those with only one.
Despite 88 per cent citing brand trust as the top driver for privacy investments, comprehensive platform adoption remains low, though a past negative experience spurs action. AI-ready organisations feel prepared for new laws and score 16 points higher on the Privacy Index.
